The Irvine Unified School District, which faces looming financial deficits, may find some much-needed money in its new role as a landlord. The private Oakridge School has offered to rent the now-vacant El Toro Marine Elementary School for more than $150,000 during the next school year. The board of education is expected to approve the lease at its meeting on Tuesday. Faced with a $4-million budget deficit that threatens to cut the district’s arts, music and science programs, school officials also said that they were pleased with the newfound source of money. The K-8 school is planning to build a permanent site in Orange.
