Lakers Not Adding to Their Fan Base

Jerry and Mitch, this is what I believe should be done to improve this terrible Laker team:
1. Go after a quality free agent, possibly Charles Oakley, and do not re-sign Rick Fox (a tweener).
2. Trade up in the draft and try to secure a point guard. (Sorry, Derek Fisher, you’re a backup).
3. Give Glen Rice one more year to see if he can fit into this offense and not re-sign him right away.
4. Give Kurt Rambis one more year to see if he can turn this ship around.

After years of brilliant moves, Jerry West has to take the rap for all this tinkering that has left the once “championship-contending” Lakers without a point guard, a power forward or a defense.

As amply illustrated by Tuesday night’s overtime victory over the Warriors, our Lakers need adversity to inspire them to really play well. Therefore, I would suggest the following modus operandi:
Make arrangements to start the game with the scoreboard showing that the other side had already scored 30 points and that the game was about to start at the beginning of the third quarter. Of course, the “error” would have to be “corrected” by the time two quarters of our game had elapsed.
In the alternative, Kurt Rambis should smash a clipboard over the hardest skull on the squad.
