Lancaster Gets Split Against High Desert

Brandon Parker, who had nine strikeouts, and Justin Kaye combined on a five-hitter and the Lancaster JetHawks beat High Desert, 1-0, in the first game of a California League doubleheader Thursday in Adelanto.
Shawn McCorkle doubled home Luis Figueroa in the ninth inning.
The Mavericks won the second game, 5-4.
Gerald Eady and Craig Kuzmic each had two hits for Lancaster (7-8) in the second game.

Class A--Left fielder Mike Glendenning (Crespi, Pierce) hit his third home run, a three-run blast, for San Jose (Giants) in a 4-0 victory over San Bernardino. Reliever Erasmo Ramirez (Cal State Northridge) was the winner after pitching 2 2/3 scoreless innings. . . . Shortstop Jack Wilson (Thousand Oaks, Oxnard College) had three hits to help lift Peoria (Cardinals) over Quad City, 5-2.
