Residents on Saturday can help paint equipment, plant, weed and trim for two hours starting at 9 a.m. The city has chosen to beautify Little Cottonwood Park, 4000 Farquhar Ave., as its Volunteer Connection Day project. The city will provide supplies and equipment. Volunteer Connection Day is a one-day countywide event marking the beginning of National Volunteer Week. Information: Gail Silva, (562) 430-1073.
