Re “Sesquipedalians and Other Obfuscations, April 2.

While I agree it is a writer’s job to communicate effectively, I am appalled by anyone willing to “dumb down” content for their audience. God forbid someone actually increase their vocabulary through reading the newspaper! What a shame to cater to the lowest common denominator instead of raising the bar.
