Royal 13, Simi Valley 3--Brian Lipman and Casey O’Quinn each had three hits and five RBIs for the Highlanders (12-2-1, 5-0), ranked No. 6 in the region by The Times, in a Marmonte League game at Simi Valley that was called after five innings because of the mercy rule.
Crescenta Valley 7, Glendale 1--Jordan Olson (7-0) struck out 10 in six innings, Tim Balkey had three hits with a home run and the top-ranked Falcons (13-1, 7-0) won a Pacific League game at Stengel Field.
Palmdale 13, Lancaster 1--John Felkins (3-1) and Mark Hendricks combined on a five-inning two-hitter for the Falcons in a Golden League victory that was halted because of the 10-run rule at Palmdale.
Felkins had three hits, including a two-run single and an RBI single.
Steve Denuccio contributed two hits, including a two-run double for the Falcons (10-5, 4-1), while Chris Testa and Matt Harrington each hit two-run home runs.
Lancaster, ranked No. 10, is 10-5, 5-2.
Highland 10, Littlerock 4--Drew Kennedy (2-0) pitched 5 1/3 innings of one-hit relief and Brandon Golphenee hit his fourth home run for the Bulldogs (11-5, 5-1) in a Golden League victory at Highland.
Quartz Hill 8, Antelope Valley 1--A.J. Ryan had two hits and three RBIs for the Rebels (6-10, 4-3) in a Golden League game at Antelope Valley.
Chaminade 25, Harvard-Westlake 3--Spencer Gordon had two home runs in the second inning and finished with five RBIs in a Mission League game at Chaminade that was halted in the fifth inning because of the 10-run rule.
Jon Higashi had two hits and four RBIs for Chaminade (13-4, 4-2).
Poly 8, Van Nuys 5--Juan Flores had three hits, including a two-run triple and a two-run double, for the Parrots (15-5, 8-0) in a Valley Pac-8 Conference victory at Van Nuys (3-9, 1-6).
Manny Flores (4-0) and Robert Rodriguez combined on a five-hitter for the Parrots.
Grant 8, Monroe 6--Billy Karz’s two-run single sparked a five-run third inning for the host Lancers in a Valley Pac-8 Conference victory.
Marc Soulema hit a two-run double later in the third inning for Grant (13-3, 7-0). Mike Marble (4-1) struck out nine and pitched a five-hitter.
Paraclete 11, Rosamond 1--Matt Parris hit a bases-loaded triple and the Spirits trounced the Roadrunners (6-7) in a nonleague game halted after six innings because of the 10-run rule at Paraclete (10-5). Jason Brown pitched a two-hitter and struck out 11.
Moorpark 8, Hueneme 0--Chris Stoddard hit a two-run home run in a nonleague game at Moorpark.
Evan Seibly pitched a four-hitter and struck out nine for Moorpark (10-6).
Oak Park 5, Fillmore 3--Erik Smentek and David Wurth hit run-scoring doubles to spark a three-run fifth for the Eagles (6-4-1) in a Tri-Valley League victory at Oak Park.
