Norstrom Injured in Collision on Ice
Defenseman Mattias Norstrom left Dallas after Sunday’s game and returned to Los Angeles after suffering rib cartilage damage while hip-checking the Stars’ Pat Verbeek in the first period.
Both players left the game. Verbeek suffered a knee injury and is expected to miss two weeks, which could cost him playoff time.
The Kings are already short defensively with Rob Blake serving a two-game suspension and Garry Galley out because of an abdominal strain.
To help out, the Kings recalled Jan Nemecek from Long Beach, and he will be available for tonight’s game.
