GLENDALE — A man was booked on suspicion of arson Sunday evening after allegedly setting fire to his home, killing the family Chihuahua, Glendale police said.
Fraj Yeretfian, 37, was arrested a short time after the blaze, which broke out at 7 p.m. and destroyed his family’s home in the 700 block of Cordova Street, said Police Sgt. Sue Hodgeman.
Shortly before the fire, a family member called police and reported a disturbance at the home.
Fire investigators could not immediately determine a motive for the fire, Hodgeman said.
No other injuries were reported, she said. A home next door to the Yeretfian’s sustained minor damage.
Yeretfian, who is being held in the Glendale Jail in lieu of $250,000 bail, is scheduled to be arraigned Tuesday.
