Orange County will be represented by 31 athletes Saturday at the Arcadia Invitational.
In the girls’ 1,600, University’s Allyson Marquand is expected to run in her final high school invitational. Marquand, who ran 4 minutes 55.53 seconds in the event last season, will face competition from Fremont Mission San Jose’s Katie Hotchkiss, a state runner-up last spring (4:49.77).
The boys’ 1,600 is also one of the county’s stronger events, with Katella’s Danny Mejia, Santa Ana’s Alfonso Leon and Esperanza’s Ryan Bousquet chasing Nebraskan Brian Turner, who ran 4:09.29 while placing second at the National Scholastic Outdoor meet last June.
