Tradition Snowed Out by Spring Storm

An intense spring storm that tormented competitors during the opening round of The Tradition with sheets of rain turned colder Friday and snowed out the second round at Scottsdale, Ariz.
The cancellation set up the second 54-hole tournament in the 11-year history of the Senior PGA Tour major.
Graham Marsh and Howard Twitty, who opened at three-under-par 69 on Thursday, will have a one-stroke lead on Leonard Thompson, Vicente Fernandez and Mike McCullough when play resumes this morning.

Rory Sabbatini grabbed the top spot in a last-minute sprint for the Masters, firing his second consecutive seven-under 65 to hold a four-shot lead after the second round of the BellSouth Classic at Duluth, Ga.
Sabbatini, a native of South Africa who turned 23 Friday, is a PGA Tour rookie who missed the cut in three of his first six tournaments.
Mike Weir shot a 65 and was in second at 134. Three golfers were tied for third at 135, including David Duval.

Juli Inkster overwhelmed a trio of opening-round leaders with a five-under 67 and held a four-stroke lead after the second round of the LPGA Longs Drugs Challenge at Twelve Bridges Golf Club at Lincoln, Calif.
