Public Works Director Is Latest City Official to Quit

Public Works Director Patrick Glover, who recently served as acting city manager, has become the latest top city official to depart the city.
Glover will become the public works director in Chino after working a decade in West Covina.
In the last year, West Covina has lost its city manager, development director, personnel director and assistant city manager. The police chief was fired amid political turmoil.
In a statement, Glover said he was departing to Chino “to work in a developing community with tremendous growth potential.”
City Manager Daniel G. Hobbs, who took over at City Hall last month, said Glover will be missed.
Glover declined to become city manager earlier this year after former City Manager James Starbird went to work in Glendale.
