Stewart Enterprises to Build, Operate 2 Catholic Mortuaries

Stewart Enterprises Inc. has signed an agreement to build and operate mortuaries at two Catholic cemeteries in Ventura County.
The agreement brings to nine the number of mortuaries to be built by Stewart for the Archdiocese of Los Angeles.
The Ventura County cemeteries are Assumption Cemetery in Simi Valley and Santa Clara Cemetery in Oxnard.
“Our commitment to providing Catholic families throughout the Archdiocese of Los Angeles with the very finest and most convenient services and facilities during their time of bereavement continues,” said the Rev. Monsignor Terrance L. Fleming, vicar general and moderator of the curia for the archdiocese. “We will be able to better serve the families of Ventura County.”
Stewart Enterprises, the third-largest provider of products and services in the funeral industry in North America, owns and operates 534 funeral homes and 136 cemeteries in North America, Europe, the Pacific Rim and South America. It is based in New Orleans.
