Deloitte & Touche Signs Downtown L.A. Lease

Deloitte & Touche signed a lease for 343,000 square feet of space at Two California Plaza, a 52-story skyscraper in the Bunker Hill section of downtown Los Angeles. The accounting and consulting firm will lease the space for 15 years and will consolidate most of its area operations and 1,500 employees in the building. The company said it plans to begin moving into the building--owned by Equity Office Properties Trust--in the spring of 2000. The Deloitte & Touche lease will help fill the space that will become vacant once the Metropolitan Water District moves into its new headquarters. In addition, another major tenant, Aames Financial Corp., is trying to sublease its 175,000 square feet of space in the same building.
