With the amateur draft Tuesday, Baseball America released results from its mock draft, an attempt to predict who will be selected in the first round.
The only player from the region listed by the magazine was Fresno State right-hander Jeff Weaver (Simi Valley). Baseball America predicted Weaver would be selected by the Milwaukee Brewers with the 13th overall pick.
In the same issue, Pierce College left-hander Barry Zito was ranked the No. 7 prospect in Southern California and the 53rd player overall.
