Jago on Students

Carol Jago has the right idea, but something is missing (Commentary, April 22). Although I do agree that the root of the problem between students and teachers is many times communication, I do not agree with the metaphor she uses, that the communication flow between a husband and a wife is the same as one between a teacher and his/her students. The relationships between these two groups are completely different and cannot be related, as such.
As a 4.0 student and classroom sleeper, I can speak from experience on this issue. If only the teachers would make things just a tad funnier and more exciting, this would help to break the communication barrier.
