Computer Factory Fire Forces Evacuation

A fire broke out at a large factory that makes components for computer hard drives Friday, prompting the evacuation of more than 325 people but causing no injuries, authorities said.
The fire began at 9 a.m. at Seagate Substrates in the 3800 block of Coronado Street, Anaheim Fire Department spokeswoman Robyn Butler said. The fire started in a machine that bails shredded aluminum, she said.
Automatic sprinklers prevented the fire from spreading. Firefighters remained at the scene for about two hours and confined damage to the machine, authorities said. A hazardous materials team contained and tested runoff water, and determined it was safe to drain, Butler said.
