2 Donated Firetrucks to Be Sent to Mexico
- Share via
Two used firetrucks will be sent to Lagos de Moreno, Mexico--Brea’s sister city--thanks to a fund-raising effort by the local Kiwanis Club.
After a ceremony last week, city fire officials and Kiwanis members drove a 1969 Crown pumper truck and a 1975 Ford brush truck to San Diego for export to the state of Jalisco.
The firetrucks will supply Patronatos de Bomberos, an all-volunteer fire company, with much-needed equipment to serve the 100,000 residents of Lagos de Moreno, city officials said.
Just one station serves the entire city, and the volunteer company hopes to open a second station with the two trucks.
