Police were searching Monday for burglars who smashed a window at Macy’s department store and looted a jewelry case.
Authorities were alerted about 3:20 a.m. by a store alarm. When they arrived at the Buenaventura Mall, they found a large window at Macy’s shattered. Inside, a glass case also had been smashed open and jewelry taken.
Police had not identified any suspects Monday and the value of the jewelry had not been determined. Store officials could not be reached for comment.
