The Mid-Valley Magic needs players for its 14-and-under fast-pitch girls’ softball team.
There are openings available at shortstop and pitcher.

In conjunction with National Girls and Women in Sports Day, the Pepperdine women’s basketball team is sponsoring “Take a Kid to the Game” day Saturday, when the Waves play host to San Diego in a 5 p.m. West Coast Conference game at Firestone Fieldhouse.
Children accompanied by an adult will be admitted free.
The Top Gun Football League, a five-on-five passing league for adults, needs players for its 10-game winter season.
The league has teams in Simi Valley, Glendale, West Covina, Chino Hills, Garden Grove and Santa Fe Springs.
League commissioners, referees and statisticians also are being sought.
