Fullerton Wins Own Tournament

Crystal Aguirre had a game-winning single as Fullerton beat Palomar, 3-2, in 10 innings in the championship game of the Fullerton softball tournament.
Fullerton had lost to Palomar by a combined score of 13-0 in two earlier meetings this season. Palomar, the designated home team, scored twice in the third to take a 2-1 lead but Fullerton tied it, 2-2, in the fifth on a run-scoring single by Lindsay Huebner.
Michelle Harrison (17-9) pitched 7 2/3 innings of shutout relief to get the victory for the Hornets. She gave up two hits and struck out seven.
Fullerton’s Adriane Lopez and Aguirre each drove in two runs as Fullerton (19-12) beat El Camino, 8-0, in one semifinal.
