Webber, Howard Probed Over Allegations

WASHINGTON — Washington Wizard forwards Juwan Howard and Chris Webber are being investigated for an alleged sexual assault against a woman during a party at Howard’s suburban Maryland home, authorities said Monday.

Investigators at the Montgomery County police department searched the homes of the two teammates after a woman detailed the allegations in a call to authorities early Monday, police spokesman George Luddington said. No charges were filed.

Billy Martin, an attorney for Howard, said on WTTG-TV in Washington no warrants were pending for his client.

Luddington said authorities will probably wait for the players to return to the Washington area before interviewing them.
