Public Invited to Workshop on Plaza

A workshop will be held Wednesday on a planned $200,000 make-over of the plaza behind Ojai’s hallmark arcade.
Consultants will provide a project overview, present the results of a survey that asked how to spruce up the area and lead interactive exercises intended to spur community comment.
“A lot of people don’t know it’s even there and a lot of people don’t use it for anything other than to walk through it,” said Debbie Lagomarcino, senior planner on the project with San Luis Obispo-based RRM Design Group. “So we’re going to create a place people want to go to.”
The two-hour meeting starts at 5:15 p.m. on the back patio of Local Hero bookstore, 254 E. Ojai Ave. In case of rain, the workshop will be held at Chaparral Auditorium, 414 E. Ojai Ave.
