Firefighter Fund Will Get Eatery’s Proceeds

Geoffrey Barrett and Jules Griggs, two firefighters from Simi Valley, didn’t know the four Los Angeles firefighters killed in a helicopter accident last month, but said they feel compelled to help their “brothers” regardless.
Barrett and Griggs will donate a day’s proceeds from the Simi Valley restaurant they own to the Widows and Orphans Fund for Los Angeles firefighters.
“This tragedy really hit home,” Barrett said. “We can relate, being a part of the firefighter family. We are all brothers and sisters.”
Barrett and Griggs’ restaurant, Firehouse Cafe at 1244 Sycamore Drive, has designated Friday to donate total sales to the fund.
Two Los Angeles firefighters from the Thousand Oaks area survived last month’s helicopter accident, Dennis J. Silgen and Steven L. Robinson.
