Apple Valley’s Faria Wins Speedway Event

COSTA MESA — Mike Faria of Apple Valley won the four-lap scratch main event on the weekly speedway motorcycle racing program in front of 4,913 Saturday night at the Orange County Fairgrounds.
Lance King of Huntington Beach and Bart Bast of Auburn finished second and third.
Faria also won the eight-lap handicap main event, with King second and Shawn McConnell of Brea third.
John Matherson of Laguna Niguel and Scott Cole of Mission Viejo teamed to win the the four-lap sidecar main (two-man team) event.
