Venegas Wins Speedway Motorcycle Main Event

COSTA MESA — Charlie Venegas of San Bernardino won the four-lap scratch main event of the weekly speedway motorcycle racing program before 5,106 Saturday night at the Orange County Fairgrounds.
Bobby Schwartz of Costa Mesa was second and Bart Bast of Auburn was third.
Mike Faria of Riverside won the eight-lap handicap main event with Gary Ackroyd of Newport Beach second and Venegas third.
