Scoop Names Marketing Veteran Bleimeister CEO

Scoop Inc., a provider of business information services that went public earlier this year, has hired a veteran marketing executive as chairman and chief executive.

Rand Bleimeister succeeds one of the founders, Karl-Magnus S. Karlsson, as chairman. The chief executive’s position has been vacant. Karlsson will continue as a director and remain available for consulting, the company said.

Bleimeister most recently was senior vice president of sales and marketing at Virgin Interactive Entertainment in Irvine.

Santa Ana-based Scoop, which is developing an Internet-based business information service, completed its initial public stock offering in April. The company posted a loss of $1.08 million for the second quarter on revenue of $485,700.
