Interfaith Holiday Celebrations Planned

Religious institutions around the Valley are breaking bread with each other in interfaith celebrations of Thanksgiving.
Congregations at temples and churches will gather tonight to share the nation’s biggest secular holiday.
Members of Shomrei Torah Synagogue in West Hills will travel to Valley Vineyard Church in Reseda for an interfaith Thanksgiving service conducted by representatives of both congregations.
The service, which starts at 7:30 tonight, will also include music by the Valley Vineyard Band and Singers.

Rep. Howard Berman (D-Mission Hills) will discuss “Prayer and Politics” in an ecumenical program sponsored by the North Hollywood Interfaith Food Pantry Coalition.
The event, which will be followed by a Thanksgiving reception, will begin at 7:30 tonight at Adat Ari El Temple, 12020 Burbank Blvd., North Hollywood.
The coalition is made up of 10 churches, temples and synagogues from the North Hollywood area. All donations of staple foods and money will benefit the coalition.

Also at 8 tonight, Temple Emanu El, Burbank First United Methodist Church and Burbank First Presbyterian Church will celebrate the 23rd annual Burbank Community Thanksgiving Eve service.
The sermon--titled “Stop and Thank!”--will be delivered by the Rev. William Craig of First Presbyterian.
The event will be held at the temple, 1302 N. Glenoaks Blvd.
