Good Dunk, Yes; Good Game, No

Clipper guard Brent Barry, who won the 1996 NBA slam dunk contest, had a sensational dunk over Chicago Bull forward Dennis Rodman in the second quarter of Tuesday night’s 94-89 loss at Chicago.
But it was the only shot Barry made.
Barry, who was shooting only 24% in his last two games coming into the game in Chicago, missed nine of 10 shots, including all six three-pointers. Barry had seven points, three rebounds, two assists and two turnovers in 33 minutes.
“I think I shut myself down,” Barry said. “Michael [Jordan] is obviously a great defender, but I just didn’t play good basketball in the second half. I didn’t really get out and get in transition, which is where I get a lot of baskets. I just didn’t have a great performance.”

One of the strangest matchups in Tuesday’s game occurred when rookie center Keith Closs found himself matched against Jordan in the fourth quarter .
“It caught me off guard,” Closs said. “I didn’t know whether to post up on him or step outside on the perimeter with him.
“I stayed down there and went up with my hook shot because I knew there was no way he was going to get to it.”
Closs, who missed his first two shots, made all three shots he took in the fourth quarter. He finished with seven points, six rebounds and one blocked shot.
