OXNARD — Police are searching for two shoplifters who pulled a handgun on a pursuing clerk, authorities said Wednesday.
The theft of a laptop computer occurred about 7:30 p.m. Tuesday at the Office Max store at 2320 N. Rose Ave.
Oxnard Police Officer Chris Borkovec said the pair had already stolen a $2,000 Toshiba laptop computer and were attempting to steal a second computer when the clerk gave chase.
One of the men pulled out a handgun and waved it at the clerk before both men got into a car and drove off, Borkovec said.
Both suspects are black and in their early 20s, authorities said. One was described as 5 feet, 10 inches and 170 pounds, with black hair and brown eyes. He was wearing a tan jacket, baseball cap and tennis shoes. The second suspect was described as 5 feet, 10 inches and 120 pounds, with black hair and brown eyes, wearing a white jacket, tan pants and black shoes.
The robbers’ car was a black Honda CRX with tinted windows.
