OXNARD — Three boys spent Christmas Eve in Juvenile Hall and three others were released to their parents after they were arrested on suspicion of breaking into a car Wednesday morning in east Oxnard.
About 7:30 a.m., five of the youths broke into a car in the 200 block of Driskill Street, while the sixth kept watch from across the street, said Oxnard Police Officer Humberto Jimenez.
A witness called police and provided detailed descriptions of the juveniles.
Oxnard Police Det. Mike Palmieri was on his way to work when he spotted the youths. He and Officer Joe Johnson arrested all six boys without incident.
The witness later identified the suspects, police said.
Two of the youths had recently been released from Juvenile Hall after serving time for a Thanksgiving Day heist, Jimenez said.
