On his latest CD “Footprints,” percussionist Bobby Matos and his seven-piece Afro Cuban Jazz Ensemble turn the Wayne Shorter-composed title tune and other jazz standards into detailed rhythm extravaganzas burnished with brass. Matos and the ensemble with saxophonist Michael Turre and trombonists Steve Baxter and Francisco Torres will make it hard to stay in your seat during this timbale-powered three-day run.
