Sunstone Acquires Regency Plaza Hotel

SAN CLEMENTE — Sunstone Hotel Investors Inc., a real estate investment trust, said Friday it has acquired the 176-room Regency Plaza Hotel in Los Angeles for $9.5 million in cash and the issuance of $3.1 million of partnership units.
Sunstone said it bought the property at the Los Angeles International Airport from Peacock LLC. The hotel consists of a single seven-story building and includes a restaurant, lounge, gift shop, business center, meeting rooms and a fitness room.
The company said it is considering renovating and rebranding the hotel.
