City Cancels Election for Vacant Council Seat
- Share via
Officials canceled a special election Wednesday because only one candidate planned to run for the vacant City Council seat.
The city was scheduled to hold a November special election to fill the City Council seat vacated by Peter Weber this year. Former Planning Commissioner John Addleman is the only candidate seeking the open seat, said Deputy City Clerk Hope Nolan. Addleman was selected to temporarily fill the seat in February when Weber retired.
Addleman will now fill the remaining two years of Weber’s term, Nolan said. The city still plans to hold a Nov. 4 general election because two other council races must be decided.
