Organizers of a countywide ballot initiative to protect agricultural land from development will hold two sunset cruises this month to benefit their cause.
One of the cruises will feature a breathtaking view of the closing-night fireworks show of the Ventura County Fair.
Ventura County SOAR (Save Open Space and Agriculture Resources) will host the fund-raising cruises Aug. 22 and 24. At 7:30 both nights, participants will board the cruiser Vanguard for a ride around Ventura Harbor. Then it’s up the coast. Along the way, dinner will be served.
The Aug. 24 cruise will include a trip to Seaside Park in Ventura for the fair’s fireworks finale.
The boat will return to Ventura Harbor at 9:30 p.m. on both nights.
Seating is limited, and tickets are $30. Call 653-0831 for reservations.
