4 Acres Burn Near Gillibrand Canyon

SIMI VALLEY — A brush fire on Saturday burned about four acres of grassland northeast of Gillibrand Canyon, according to the Ventura County Fire Department.
Five engines were sent to the area of Bennett and Tapo Canyon roads shortly after 5 p.m., said fire dispatcher Charles Carranza.
The crew contained the blaze by about 7:45 p.m. but was expected to continue mopping up into the evening, he said.
No injuries were reported and the cause of the fire is unknown.
