Supervisors Must Fully Fund Courts

Re “Court Cash Fight Threatens Addition for Support Cases,” June 6:
The Orange County Board of Supervisors has once again proven its management ineptitude in the financial staffing of the Superior Courts.
After more than 10 years the supervisors still have done nothing about a new jail. And now they are blocking the Superior Courts from doing their job effectively by failing to properly fund the courts.
This once again confirms the public’s view of the supervisors’ actions as pro-criminal, anti-police by delaying justice and increasing the courts’ backlog. This proves the board is unresponsive to the county’s needs, cannot manage disputes, has no logical reasoning in its decision-making process. Above all, the members of the board have no idea on how to be supervisors.
It would seem that the county board only works well with large landowners and big business, which fill the campaign coffers of the supervisors with vast sums of money. It is time for the board to fully fund the Superior Courts and to stop playing these childish, unprofessional games.
