This Winner Doesn’t Come Full Circle

The photograph of the winner’s circle following Thursday’s $49,152 feature race at Hollywood Park was missing something--the 4-year-old colt who won the race.
After crossing the finish line, Harbour Sunset broke through the inner rail, dumping jockey Corey Black in the process, then took off galloping toward the stables.
Horse and jockey were unhurt. Black returned to win the final race on the card aboard Scoop Of Ice, his third victory of the day.
The odds-on favorite, Harbour Sunset finished 1 1/4 lengths in front of Andtheliviniseasy, with Native Desert another length behind in third in the allowance race for 3-year-olds and up.
Harbour Sunset carried 119 pounds and finished the mile on turf in 1:33 4/5. The winner paid $3.80, $2.60 and $2.20. Harbour Sunset, owned by Jack Grossman and trained by Dick Mandella, earned $28,000, increasing the colt’s career total to $108,695.
