HUNTINGTON BEACH — Nearly $50,000 worth of jewelry was stolen from a Scottsdale, Ariz., saleswoman in a robbery Tuesday in the north end of the business district, police said.
The 49-year-old woman, who suffered minor injuries in the incident, was bringing a suitcase full of jewelry from Tustin to a business in Huntington Beach about 3:30 p.m., police said.
When she entered the store on Triton Lane, she was struck from behind by an assailant, who then grabbed the jewelry and fled to a waiting car, Lt. Bruce Kelly said.
The suspects escaped in a 1994 Honda Civic with no license plates, police said. Both were described as male Latinos. The assailant was described as 5 feet, 8 inches tall, 180 pounds, with black hair, and was wearing a T-shirt and shorts.
