Marlins Avoid a Letdown

SAN FRANCISCO — Still basking in Kevin Brown’s no-hitter against San Francisco, the Florida Marlins were concerned their next game might be a letdown.
“It can happen,” Marlins outfielder Bobby Bonilla said.
But it didn’t. The Marlins rapped 13 hits to beat the Giants 6-3 Wednesday, a day after Brown’s gem.
The Marlins got four runs in the first inning, including Bonilla’s three-run homer. Bonilla finished with four RBIs.
“It was big for us to get the four,” he said. “Coming after the no-hitter, it was like, ‘Are we going to hit the ball again or what?’ So it was nice to get the four.”
The Giants, meanwhile, stranded 15 batters on base, a season high.
