In the largest drug seizure ever made by its narcotics unit, Anaheim police seized 99 kilograms of cocaine and $40,000 in cash Tuesday night after suspicious residents contacted them about possible drug trafficking.
Acting on the tip, the department’s Street Narcotics Unit contacted Ramiro Carbajal, 23, in the 1700 block of West Catherine Street and obtained permission to search his apartment, a police spokesman said.
Investigators arrived about 10 p.m. and found the cocaine in a toolbox in the garage and the cash inside the apartment. They estimated the value of the drugs at $4 million. Carbajal was arrested on suspicion of possession of cocaine for sale.
