Vigil to Mark Death of Nicole Simpson

A candlelight vigil will be held Thursday at Salt Creek Beach Park in memory of Nicole Brown Simpson on the third anniversary of her slaying.
The vigil, from 9:30 to 10:30 p.m., is being organized by her sister Denise Brown.
“People ask me if the passing of time has allowed healing from the loss of my sister Nicole,” Brown said. “As time goes by, the loss becomes more profound.”
O.J. Simpson was acquitted of the June 12, 1995, killings of Nicole Brown Simpson and Ronald Goldman. A civil jury, however, found Simpson liable for damages in their deaths.
The last two anniversaries have drawn hundreds of people to Salt Creek beach and $34,000 in donations.
Although donations will not be sought at this year’s event, Denise Brown said they are always accepted by Nicole Brown’s Charitable Foundation. The proceeds serve to provide grants to shelters for battered women throughout the United States.
