A major reason Esperanza won its first Division I championship in four years. Was second on the Aztecs in homers, was 20 for 20 in steals and made only four errors in 30 games. “We have been known as a shortstop school with Tom Redington, Jason Bates, Rich Hills and Pancho Reese, and Tom is right up there,” Coach Mike Curran said.
