Beware False Fund-Raising

Glendale police Thursday warned that impostors claiming to be raising funds on behalf of slain Police Investigator Charles Lazzaretto have been calling residents seeking donations.
Police have not authorized any organization or company to raise funds by phone. Anyone who receives such calls should get a name and phone number and contact their local police department, police said.
An official Glendale Police Officers Assn. memorial fund has been established in Lazzaretto’s name. Donations can be left at the front desk of the police station or mailed to P.O. Box 245, Glendale, CA 91209. The officers association phone number is (818) 246-9053.
