Gennaro’s Single Lifts Crespi, 10-9

Rob Hirsh scored from third base in the bottom of the seventh inning on a one-out single by Joey Gennaro to lift Crespi High to a 10-9 victory over Servite in a second-round Southern Section Division I game Tuesday at Valley College.
The Celts (21-8) blew a 9-3 lead by allowing six runs in the top of the seventh.
Brian Felten (11-1) started the game, was replaced with nobody out in the seventh and returned to the mound to record the final two outs after the Friars (23-4) had tied the score, 9-9.
Felten allowed four runs on four hits, struck out three and walked three.
Crespi’s Nick Rita had two hits, including a double, scored twice and drove in a run. Teammate Luke Worgan drove in three runs with two hits, including a two-run double.
In other second-round games:
DIVISION II
Hart 10, Paso Robles 3--Cody Joyce had three hits--including a double and a triple--knocked in a run and scored twice for Hart (20-8) at Paso Robles.
West Torrance 8, Antelope Valley 4--James Garcia had two home runs and five runs batted in, and struck out 11 over six innings for West Torrance (25-4) at Antelope Valley.
DIVISION III
Redondo 8, Westlake 4--David Williamson had two hits and drove in two runs for host Redondo (17-8-1).
DIVISION IV
Calabasas 13, Dos Pueblos 4--Rick Stockton (6-1) pitched four innings of three-hit relief, striking out five, to pace the Coyotes (26-2) at Calabasas.
Brian Fatur had three hits, including his 10th home run, for the Coyotes.
San Luis Obispo 9, Alemany 6--Joe Melaragno and Jason Westemeir each had two hits for host Alemany (14-12).
DIVISION V
Brentwood 12, L.A. Baptist 2--Josh Hilliger and John Hubbard each had run-scoring singles for host L.A. Baptist (16-11).
DIVISION VI
Viewpoint 6, L.A. Lutheran 5--Kareem Shaarawy’s two-run double in the sixth gave host Viewpoint (17-5) the victory at Calabasas High.
Chaney Sheffield’s three-run home run in the fifth put Viewpoint within 5-4.
