Michael Soylular has been named women’s volleyball coach at Cypress College, school officials said.
Soylular won nine Pacific Coast League championships as coach of the boys’ and girls’ teams at Laguna Beach. He led the women’s team to the 1991 Southern Section 5-A championship.

Wrong university--Matt Roman, Cypress center fielder, has signed with Hawaii Pacific. He was listed as having signed with another college in Wednesday’s Times Orange County Edition.
He replaces Linda Bohm, who resigned for personal reasons.

Matt Roman, an outfielder for Cypress College’s baseball team, has signed a letter of intent with Hawaii, school officials said. Roman hit .282 for Cypress.
