Spotlight: Software Provides a Bundle of Joy for CyberMedia

Santa Monica-based CyberMedia Inc. shares rose as much as 30% after the company said versions of its First Aid 97 and Oil Change software will be bundled with every extended-protection agreement sold by Dallas-based retailer CompUSA Inc. to new computer buyers. Shares of the automatic service and support software developer rose $4.375 to close at $19.125 on Nasdaq as the agreement could help CyberMedia reach hundreds of thousands of new customers.
