PIRANHAS TONIGHT

Opponent--Florida Bobcats

Site--The Pond

Time--7:30

Radio--KPLS (830 AM)

TV--OCN

Records--Bobcats 1-2, Piranhas 0-3.

Piranha update--They’ve lost their first three games, averaging a league-low 28.3 points, and they will be without eight starters and one reserve for tonight’s game. Anaheim is holding a strange version of guaranteed-win night. If the Piranhas win, each fan in attendance will receive free tickets to a future Piranhas game. Normally, it’s the other way around. Receiver/linebacker Jai Hill, fullback/linebacker Kevin Carroll, lineman Darryl Milburn and Clarence Siler won’t play because of ankle sprains. Also out are defensive specialist Carlton Johnson (strained knee) and receiver/defensive back Anthony Bridges (right groin), quarterback Ron Lopez (ribs), receiver Jemone Smith (shoulder) and reserve defensive back Jason Oliver (ankle). Rookie Mark Grieb will start at quarterback for Lopez.

Bobcat update--Florida is coming off its first victory, a 44-28 win over New Jersey. Quarterback Tom Luginbill completed 19 of 32 passes for 193 yards and two touchdowns in the victory. Babe Parilli led the Piranhas to a 9-5 record and was fired after the season.
