Kings Reduce Prices, Seriously

In an eight-page report mailed to season-ticket holders, the Kings announced they are reducing ticket prices for the 1997-98 season, with the average season ticket being reduced from $32 to $31 and the average individual ticket reduced by 49 cents.

The report also introduced “Founders’ Rights” for existing season-ticket holders. These rights guarantee a lower price for season tickets and seating priority in the planned new arena downtown.

“Having been loyal to the Kings for years, they deserve the best price now and in the new arena,” King President Tim Leiweke said.

The new season-ticket package is discounted from the average individual game ticket price, which was also reduced from $36.15 to $35.66, for a savings of 49 cents a game.

“We made adjustments to the prices to make it equitable for all fans,” Leiweke said. “The good news is the average ticket price for a Kings game has gone down.”
