Guided bus tours exploring the historical heritage of Jewish Los Angeles are now being offered through the Jewish Historical Society.
The bus tours, held the second Sunday of the month, starting from the Jewish Federation at 6505 Wilshire Blvd., help participants track the population shifts of Jewish residents of Los Angeles from the year 1850.
As part of the tour, guides will describe the once-vibrant Jewish in South-Central Los Angeles with a visit to some of the seven synagogues once located south of 21st Street and east of Figueroa--as well as others in the West Adams, Crenshaw and Bladwin Hills areas.
Other tour stops feature the restored site of the Sephardic Temple Tifereth Isreal on Martin Luther King Boulevard.
Tours cost $25 per person.
