Spotlight: CalPERS Hits All-Time High of $113 Billion

The recent rally in U.S. financial markets has pushed the California Public Employees’ Retirement System fund to a record high of $113 billion, as of Monday. The nation’s largest public pension fund said March declines in stocks and bonds caused its portfolio to fluctuate slightly, lowering asset value by about $2 billion. With the rally, the fund recovered and increased in value. About 64% of its assets are invested in equities, 30% in fixed income and 6% in real estate.
